Services for Rev. Benjamin (Benny) F. Jackson, 79, of Alabaster, Alabama, will be on Saturday, December 30, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in Oxford, AL. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday December 29, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home in Oxford, AL.
Benny passed away on December 27, 2017 at his home. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Virgil Jackson and Ola Lonie Jackson; brothers,
Paul Jackson (Bernice), Rudolph Jackson (Sarah); sisters, Sybil Snow (Ted), Hazel White (Harvey). He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Austin Jackson; Son, Scott Jackson (Rita) and grandchild, Ruby Jackson.
Benny was a native of the Friendship community in Oxford, AL. He was called to preach at the young age of 15. Beginning in February 1974, Benny Jackson became a full-time vocational evangelist. For over 42 years Benny averaged 30 crusades a year, going into 32 states and 20 foreign countries. Before entering the field of Evangelism he served for 14 years as pastor of Southern Baptist Churches in Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee. Benny was not ashamed to preach the gospel God has used this ministry to bring scores of people to a first-hand saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. His faithfulness and love for Christ showed in how he loved people. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
